Silverfox Equestrian Club

Our Lesson Program

Our lesson program is run by owner, Kristi Newman. She is an Equestrian Canada Certified Coach, trained with Olympic coaches for her entire career, has been teaching for 26 years and competes and trains horses for the Olympic sport of Dressage

Our program is different from other riding schools because all of our lessons are one on one in private lessons. Riders get the full attention of the coach and we find that with this type of focused attention the riders progress quicker in their goals.  Our philosophy is to educate riders and horses so that everyone is speaking the same language. The result is happy confident riders and horses.

We hold clinics and different events to make sure that there is also a social component to the learning. Riders are also encouraged to watch other lessons at the farm as watching and listening is an excellent way to learn even more.

Our goal is to create a safe learning environment where riders and horses can achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

Riders are expected to arrive 30min early to their lesson time to prepare their horses and tack them up. This is all part of horsemanship and becoming an accomplished horse person. Helmets must be worn at all times when working and riding the horses. Correct riding boots with a heal must be worn at all times. Riding attire should include snug fitting riding pants and polo shirt or fitted sweater/coat. Riders are not allowed to ride in tank tops, hoodies or baggy clothing, for safety reasons.
